Every year, Troy Rotarians meet on a Saturday morning to pick up trash and litter along East St. Rt. 55 as one of many service projects the club performs. This year, they plan to meet at 8:45 AM on Saturday, April 8 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1879 Old Staunton Road and East St. Rt. 55. The work should be completed by 10 AM. Please be watchful for members along each side of the road if your travel plans take you in that direction, and you are asked to use caution when passing by the workers. If you would like to participate in the cleanup, please meet the volunteers at the church at 8:45 AM.
Troy Rotarians and the Troy Rotary Foundation support several community projects annually. During the 2015-16 Rotary year, over $23,000 in scholarships and community aid was distributed from the fund, including support for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program, Rotary’s annual Shoe Project, academic and community service scholarships, and sponsorships to summer camps at Brukner Nature Center and WACO Air Museum. The Troy Rotary club is a member-involved, goal-oriented service club focused on socio/economic issues that have an impact both locally and internationally.
