Troy Rotarians are pleased to welcome Chris Behm as a new member of the club. Behm teaches business classes for grades 9-12 at Troy High School, 151 West Staunton Road in Troy. In addition to his classroom responsibilities, Behm is the assistant varsity wrestling coach, the Business Club advisor, and a College Credit Plus Program instructor through Edison Community College. This program allows students to attend Edison and earn course credits that transfer when they attend college after graduating from high school. Behm has been with the Troy City Schools since 2013. Prior to joining the faculty in Troy, he taught at Riverview East Academy in Cincinnati, Ohio. Behm also worked as an account executive for Total Quality Logistics and Cold Stream Financial, both in Cincinnati.
A native Trojan, Behm earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance at Miami University. The siren call to be an educator led him to complete the Teachers Needed Program at the University of Cincinnati and a Masters of Arts degree in Marketing and Business Education from Ball State University. Not one to be idle, Behm is now working on the requirements to earn an MBA from Ball State in 2018. His membership in Troy Rotary is effective immediately.
Troy Rotarians and the Troy Rotary Foundation support several community projects annually. During the 2015-16 Rotary year, over $23,000 in scholarships and community aid was distributed from the fund, including support for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program, Rotary’s annual Shoe Project, academic and community service scholarships, and sponsorships to summer camps at Brukner Nature Center and WACO Air Museum. The Troy Rotary Club is a member-involved, goal-oriented service club focused on socio/economic issues that have an impact both locally and internationally.
