Membership in the Troy Rotary Club continues to grow, thanks to new business and civic leaders who have accepted invitations to join the organization. In recent weeks, Derek Koester and Jeff Price have joined the Club as active members working to keep Troy and the Miami County area a great place to live.
Originally from Fort Recovery, Ohio, Koester made the move to Troy this year to be closer to his work as a Senior Staff Accountant at Nolan, Giere & Company. He has his undergraduate degree in Accounting and is finishing up a Masters in Accountancy, both of which are from Wright State University. Once he completes his graduate program, he plans to sit for the CPA exam.
Price transferred his Rotary membership from Piqua to Troy, due to a change in employment earlier this year. He took on the role of Treasurer/Chief Financial Officer for Troy city schools, a job that requires a keen ability to manage both multimillions of dollars in program funds as well as the public’s trust. Price is no stranger to the demands of such a role. For the past two decades, he has worked in similar jobs throughout Ohio in the Piqua, Swanton, Riverdale and Hardin County school districts. A graduate of the University of Findlay, Price has held membership in several professional organizations and board positions for local agencies, including the Piqua Juvenile Education Foundation and the United Way.
The Troy Rotary Club welcomes new members throughout the year. It is a member-involved, goal-oriented service club focused on socio/economic issues that have an impact both locally and internationally. Follow their activities on Facebook at Troy Rotary Club.
