October 24, 2014
TROY, OH - It turns out that Santa Claus loves pancakes and sausage almost as much as he loves cookies and milk! To keep him ho ho happy, Troy Rotarians are gearing up to host Santa Claus and hungry families at their 3rd annual “Breakfast with Santa” on Saturday, December 6, 2014 from 8:30-11 AM at the St. Patrick Parish Center in Troy. Proceeds from the event are used to support scholarships and provide community aid through the Troy Rotary Foundation. “The breakfast is one of the most energizing events we host,” explained Melissa Kleptz, Executive Director of Troy Foundation and Rotary chairwoman of the breakfast. “The kids love seeing Santa, and the funds raised help the community in many ways,” said Kleptz.
Mark your calendars now to join in on the fun. Tickets will go on sale starting in November and can be purchased from any Troy Rotarian or at these locations: Around About Books (8 West Main Street) or the Mayor’s Office (2nd floor of City Hall, 100 South Market Street). You may also purchase tickets at the door on December 6th. Ticket price is $10. The Parish Center is located at 444 E. Water Street and parking is availabe in the adjacent lot. The menu includes all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, milk, juice and coffee. All the kids will have a chance to visit with Santa and get a framed 4x6” picture with the jolly old elf himself.
Kleptz will share more information on the event on Troy Community Radio, WTJN 107.1 FM on Friday morning, December 5th on The Breakfast Club with Clint & Lori. You can listen to the live streaming on www.tcrtroycommunityradio.com. Who knows? You might even hear from Santa Claus!
The Troy Rotary Foundation supports several community projects annually. In 2013-14, more than $11,000 in scholarships and community aid was distributed from the fund, including providing opportunities for local Troy students to attend summer camps at Brukner Nature Center and Waco Air Museum. The Troy Rotary Club is a member-involved, goal-oriented service club focused on socio/economic issues that have an impact both locally and internationally.
